Second Wave Music was formed to fill a hole in the marketplace between talented, unsigned artists and the legions of avid music fans waiting to discover their music. Our goal is to help Chicagoland artists connect directly with fans. SWM was founded by music and technology veterans who understand the market opportunity, have the tools to go after it, and have the passion to be successful.

Artist Services 

Second Wave Music also provides "Artist Services" for a smaller number of emerging artists looking for partners, management, capital, recording or other help along the way.  Our first management contract is with Chicago's Company of Thieves.

Steve Johns, Founder - Steve has over 20 years of experience in business, technology, investing and entrepreneurship, including senior executive roles at Gateway and Launch Media (now Yahoo! Music).

Secondwavemusic.com is a free service for artists and fans to connect with each other. We offer news, reviews, classifieds, exclusive video footage, a venue listing, an “ask the experts” section, and an artist directory full of Chicago's greatest undiscovered talent.
