Hey Y'all,
So we're really excited to announce a partnership with Second Wave Music. SWM is a site/organization specifically focused on the Chicago Music Scene, and they're working hard to connect good Chicago bands with other bands and bring fans and friends together. SWM helping us promote our upcoming show for the Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival at the Congress Theater November 22, and we're going to be offering some exclusive promotions through their site.
Second Wave is a great place for people who really enjoy supporting Chicago Music to connect with each other, discover, and support up and coming bands. The SWM band list is by invitation only, so they're somewhat exclusive in their content, which means less sorting through trying to find a band you like. They also have a super-interactive forum called The Green Room – that's like a MySpace just for Chicago bands and fans of Chicago music! Way cool.
Here are some awesome ways we are partnering with them right now:
-On the main Second Wave Music website, if you scroll down there is a sweet little Flash widget called the "Bizmo" that features 3 of our songs to listen to and/or purchase. The coolest thing about it is you can very easily put it on your own MySpace or Facebook for a cool, interactive way to show off your band-love. Right now we are offering "Spotlights" for free download on the Bizmo!
-We are also holding a discussion in The Green Room's message board - we're looking for some input from y'all about which songs you'd like to hear us do in our set at CBGB on November 22nd. PLEASE sign up for the Green Room (so, so free) and add your ideas for songs you'd really like us to cover to the thread!
Once you sign up, they will email you an an exclusive FREE download of our song "Boston & Alone" from the new album Jump the Fence. SWM is the only place you can get this song for free! They will also send you some html code for a banner that you can add to your myspace pages and websites to help promote the CBGB festival.
Contributing to this discussion, helping us promote the show by telling your friends, posting the banner on your sites, and getting involved on Second Wave Music, can all add up to you winning FREE tickets to the festival!
We're really happy to be involved with the people from Second Wave Music- they're some of the nicest people we've met in Chicago. They may be helping us set up a street team in the future and eventually we hope to play shows through them.
